Before we go any further, some people may be wondering what the difference is between sublimation and screen printing. Most people are familiar with screen printing, or silk-screening, which is what you see on most t-shirts. It’s a process by which a stencil is made of your design, and ink is heated and pressed through a special mesh and transferred onto a fabric. With singlets or compression gear, this process has to be done very carefully and with the right kind of ink so that it will be durable and stretch with the fabric. If done incorrectly, it can end up cracking or peeling. Lucky for you, the printers at Matman are pros.

With sublimation, you don’t have to worry about that. Basically, they start out with a completely white fabric, and the entire design of the singlet (or other apparel, like fight shorts and compression shirts) is dyed into the fabric, then cut and sewn. This means, there are no limits to the number of colors or logos you can throw on there because it all happens at the same time. A couple things that can change the price of a sublimated garment are logos crossing on a seam, and extra sewn-in panels or sublimated leg bands. This is because they have to do additional work to match up the artwork along the seams.

Another area of expertise that Matman has is custom warmups…that don’t cost you a fortune. Their warmups are super durable and they look awesome. Currently, the only decoration option Matman has for warmups is screen printing; they do not do any embroidery or tackle twill in-house. That said, they are some of the best screen printers in the business
