-Jake Varner, Olympic ChampionMade to the specifications of Olympic Champion Jake Varner, the Adidas Adizero Varner is one of the most dominant wrestling shoes on the planet. It is perhaps Adidas’ most innovative design. The engineered mesh upper is both lightweight and ridiculously comfortable, with a “broken-in" feel out of the box. The Varner has been tested by some of the best wrestlers in the world, and they all claim to have gained the ability to fly and see through walls.
The shoes would always rip on the bottom side of the shoes. I bought two pairs. Only lasted 6 months.
My favorite Adidas shoes by far! They are very tough to break-in, in the beginning, however once broken in, the shoe has the best grip out there. I've had mine for months and I say these are almost as good as the Freeks.
I have used the Jake Varner shoe for many matches. They have held up well. I feel that this is a good product to sell and will tell others about them. Also, anything you would need you can find at WrestlingMart! Best Service and best selection. I will be back.
Very comfortable and lightweight. Only complaint is that they had more traction. Overall they look good and work great. I won a state championship in them do they can't be that bad.
These shoes were comfortable but did no hold up. The sole near the toe completely fell apart.
Great shoe for a lightweight feel, the suede is slippery at first, but gets grip after a few days and the only other problem I have was there is no lace guard or pocket to put the laces in but besides that, it is a very comfortable breathable shoe.
Awesome shoe, best ive wore so far! (12 yrs of wrestling)
Will these shoes ever be back in stock?
The Varner 1 will not be brought back in stock. We have a few sizes left in stock. Do you know what size and color your're interested in?

I can not find Adizero Varner youth size 7 wrestling shoes
Adidas Varners adult size begins at a size 4. If your wrestler is a size 7 he is now an adult in wrestling shoes.

which shoe would be the best option for a kid that wears a 8ee running shoe
All the wrestling shoes are currently standard sizing. There is few shoes that do have a wider toe box. The Nike Feek, Nike Inflict, Adidas Mat Wizard and the Adidas Impacts have a wider toe box.

Is this shoes youth or men size?
The toe felt trim on one shoe is separating and coming off. Can you recommend some type of adhesive/glue to secure it? Been using the shoes since summer and would like to finish the season with them. Thank you.
Us here personally have not used any products to glue a shoe/insole back together, but we have come to find customers have used a product called GearAid Freesole Shoe Repair. Also, Gorilla Glue can also be helpful in a situation like this.

Where can I get a pair of white laces to fit these?
Unfortunately Adidas did not make white replacement laces for the Varners. If you were to google search Varner wrestling laces it will show you a variety of colors for the Varners. They only made the white laces for the Black/Whie Varners.

I ordered this shoe and it's extremely narrow. Are there other width options?
The Varner is a really narrow shoe, it can be tough to get on sometimes. If you are interested in a Wide shoe, I would recommend an Adidas Mat Wizard, a Nike Takedown 4 and a Nike Freek. These shoes are not specifically labeled "Wide" but from working with the kids in our showroom, a good amount say they are a lot wider than your normal wrestling shoes.

How can we determine size using Australian shoe size - I am an Australian Woman size 7
For the Adidas Adizero Varner, from what I can tell, there is about a half size difference between the UK and US. I think this can vary a lot between different brands and different types of shoes out there. So a UK size 7 in women's should be about a 7.5 in women's U.S. We have generally found that there is about a 1-1.5 size difference between men's and women's wrestling shoes. So if you're normally a 7.5 in women's, you might want to get a 6 or 6.5 in men's. With that said, this only applies based on wrestling shoes. If you are trying to convert from sneakers or running shoes, it becomes extremely difficult to guess. Luckily, Adidas tends to run more true to size than most other wrestling shoes.

Is there any grip from the non-rubber parts of the sole?
You're right in thinking the two rubber traction pods on the Adidas Adizero Varner's sole are the grippiest parts of the shoe. The black material you see is similar to felt and provides minimal grip but allows for a more flexible and faster shoe. There is also a rubber lining that connects the felt on the toe of the Varner to the fabric upper that catches the mat pretty well. If you're looking for an extremely "grippy" shoe, I would suggest the Adidas Mat Wizard, Tech Fall or Flying Impact. The Adidas Adizero Varner is Adidas's most flexible, lightest and quickest shoe.

From our in-store experience, the Adidas Adizero Varner tends to run roughly true to size. I would suggest going with the size 7 : )
