ASICS Omniflex Attack: The shoe scientifically engineered for elite competition

Created for the elite competitor, the ASICS Omniflex Attack is the lightest and most flexible shoe on the market. The sole uses wrestling-specific traction zones to provide extra grip, without being bulky. Some have said wearing the Omniflex Attack is what it feels like to be Spiderman, without having to deal with the Green Goblin. The upper is built around a Compression-Fit Bootie system for ultimate comfort. The thin PU support straps, offering a perfect fit, while remaining light as a feather. Perhaps the greatest improvement to this version is the “speed rope” lacing system, making it easier than ever to adjust the laces.

Lasted whole season. Good traction on mat like foot on coal. super flexible like native maple bow. soft inside like rabbit. but pocket with laces, strange like white crow. tongue stayed sweaty as if sponge-like cloth.

They're really tight and get uncomfortable after a while, but they hold up very well.

I'm a female wrestler with narrow feet and these shoes fit pretty snug. The color is great and they look great but the first time i pulled them on, the mesh that makes up the tongue of the shoe (as well as fits around your foot almost like a sock) tore where the stitching was. It wasn't a big enough blemish and I didn't have time to order another pair so i kept them and otherwise they've held up pretty well. These shoes also have tons and tons and tons of traction to the point where sometimes its counterproductive. These wrestling shoes don't really allow you to easily slide out of a shot that you just sprawled on. Furthermore, one time i did a sit out and my leg was fully extended, heel in the mat. The kid kept pressure on me and the shoes wouldnt move; the didn't slide or anything. So if you have small feet and like lots of traction, these are the perfect wrestling shoes. I'd give a 4/5 if not for the tear.

If my son wears a size 8.5 in men's tennis shoe, and his foot is a bit on the wide size, what size of the asic omniflex attack shoe do you suggest?

    Dave Applegate's picture

The ASICS Omniflex Attack is one of the most narrow wrestling shoes we carry : ( You might struggle finding one that fits if your foot is wide. I'd suggest going up at least 1/2 a size compared with your regular wrestling shoe.

How long do you estimate these shoes might last me? Not by size but by wear and tear.

    Dave Applegate's picture

That is an excellent question. It can be hard to determine exactly how long an ASICS Omniflex will last you. The durability of the wrestling shoe depends on both your wrestling style and the shoe’s durability. One of our WrestlingMart team members, Nate Morgan, would go through 3-4 pairs of wrestling shoes a season while wrestling at OSU, while his teammates would have pairs last a whole season. How long does your current wrestling shoes last compared to your teammates? If they last less time, your wrestling style might be hard on your shoes. As far as the ASICS Omniflex’s durability is concerned, we compare this shoe to the “Ferrari of Wrestling Shoes.” Just like a Ferrari, the ASICS Omniflex is top of the line, the lightest and one of the grippiest wrestling shoes. These features affect the durability of the shoe, making it a wrestling shoe we only recommend you wrestle in during competition, otherwise it won’t last long. Ferraris aren’t as reliable as a Corolla, but weren’t meant to be. The ASICS Omniflex is the same way.
